I believe in going beyond together!
Science and research are multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, and international. This is why I love collaborating with other organizations, institutions, and research groups on different projects (not always ocean-related).
The Mermaids of Mexico is a network of women divers and community leaders united by ocean protection, citizen science, and ecofeminism. This collective connects various local groups across the country to conduct underwater monitoring, restore ecosystems, and remove ghost fishing nets.
COBI is a wonderful Mexican non-governmental organization passionate about researching and promoting sustainable fishing while uplifting livelihoods in coastal communities. Their mission is to encourage the conservation of marine biodiversity and support the development of sustainable fisheries, all through meaningful community involvement.
Science is cool; why not share it with others? CADS photography captures mind-blowing moments that ignite our curiosity. With their exceptional skills and passion, they've bagged prestigious awards. Join them on their incredible visual journey, where science meets art!
"Pescando el momento" (Fishing a moment) is an initiative from COBI and fishing community members led by Arturo Hernández to capture incredible moments of the community's daily life and livelihoods, where the photographers are the community members! Photography and videography courses are currently taking place, so they can develop the knowledge and skills to be producers and creators of the image of their own community!
